Volunteer Information for SMPTE 2018:

 

Registration

Volunteers working a half-day shift receive a complimentary conference registration for that day.

Volunteers working a full-day shift receive a complimentary registration for an additional day of their choice.

Registration instructions will be provided once the Volunteer Schedule is finalized.

 

Dress Code

The dress code for the event is business or business casual. All volunteers will be provided with a SMPTE Event Staff T-shirt at the event. Once you have received your badge, you should head to the SMPTE Volunteer Desk to check in and collect your shirt. If you are Volunteering for the Badge Scanner position, you are required to wear this shirt during your shift.

 

Meals During the Conference

All Volunteers working during the Conference will have access to food and beverage during their day(s) of attendance.  This includes coffee breaks, daily Boxed Lunch, the Monday Luau, Tuesday Oktoberfest Reception, and the Wednesday Spooktacular Reception. Please note that the Awards Gala is not included in Volunteer registration.

 

Volunteer Check In at the Conference

Your badge may be collected at the Registration desk in the California Ballroom Foyer on level 2 of the Westin Bonaventure. Once you have received your badge, please proceed to the Volunteer Desk to check in for your shift.  Please note that Volunteers should arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled shift.

 

Directions and Parking

Directions and transportation information can be found on the hotel website.

 

SMPTE will reimburse parking at a maximum rate of $20 per day for Full-Day Volunteers on the day of their Volunteer shift. In order to be reimbursed, bring your parking ticket to the Volunteer Desk when you check out at the end of your shift.
